UPC was formed by farmers in 1998 in Huehuetenango. Located in the highlands of western Guatemala, Huehuetenango has become synonymous with excellent coffee full of flavor and character. UPC’s coffee is no exception. Mountainous terrain provides ideal conditions for growing many varietals of coffee under the cover of native shade trees. Coffee is often planted at seemingly gravity-defying angles, making hand-picked harvesting difficult.
